Redbirds AGM Announced

The 2008 Redbirds Lacrosse Club will hold its AGM at the Newmarket Community Centre at 7:00 pm on November 27th.  Proposed amendments can be seen here.  Board positions up for election are:

- Director of House League

- Director of Marketing

U19 Field Lacrosse Team Tryouts begin August 13th

All tryouts run from 7:00 - 9:00 at Clearmeadow Public School, Newmarket (200 Clearmeadow Blvd).  Total tryout fee is $10.  Please arrive by 6:30 in order to register.  Players born in years 1989 through to 1994 are eligible.  The Newmarket U19 team has graduated several players to US schools.  For more information, please contact Stew Beatty at 4beatty@rogers.com or Owen Missen at omissen@sympatico.ca.  Click here for more information.

Longest Lacrosse Game in Support of the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness
On June 13th & 14th, the Aurora Masters lacrosse League is planning to set a world record for the longest lacrosse game - a 25 hour marathon.  The Newmarket Redbirds will be supporting this effort to set the record and raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness (www.abusehurts.com).  For more information, please visit www.laxdove.ca.

Custom Mouthguards Available
The Redbirds Lacrosse Club is pleased to be able to offer its members custom fit mouthguards.  In association with Puck-Err Up Custom Athletic Mouth Guards, mouthguards are available at a cost of $40.  Get your mouthguard in Redbirds Red!  Puck-Err Up will be at the final registration at the Newmarket Community Centre Thursday February 28th and at other events such as Rep tryouts and the pre-season House League clinics.  Support the Redbirds and get your custom-fit mouthguard.  Puck-Err can also be contacted at: puckerrupmouthguards@rogers.com.

Newmarket Saints Junior B Lacrosse Season Passes

Season passes are now on sale for the rapidly approaching inaugural season of the Newmarket Saints Jr B lacrosse team.  Don't miss your opportunity to get one of the hottest tickets in town and at a bargain basement price of $25 for a family of five for the entire season!!
